Survivor Story

Inspiration for Ebony

Remember this.

Her name was Ebony
and you could’ve walked right past her without ever knowing you were passing a
whole storm held together by faith. Every turn she makes nowhere is safe.

The system dropped her.
Family turned away.
Neighbors stayed silent.
Men broke what they didn’t bother to understand.
And Ebony… sometimes she broke herself trying to survive what no one helped her
carry.

But her faith?
Her faith refused to die.
When the world muted her, purpose turned the volume back up.
When life tried to bury her, her spirit clawed its way to the surface with nothing but
God and grit in her hands she is who dies but is born again.

Ebony is the reminder we keep ignoring:
People are drowning in plain sight.
People are breaking behind polite smiles.
People are begging to be seen without saying a word.

If we loved each other right,
if we treated each other like souls instead of scenery, hurt would be less triggering.
if we cared before the tragedy
Ebony’s story would not be a warning.

But she rose.
She rose from the ruins we left her in.
She rose because purpose demanded she live.
So let her story haunt you into being better.

Let her life echo in your bones:
See people.
Hear people.
Love people.
Because the next Ebony is walking past you right now —
and she shouldn’t have to survive alone.
