Survivor Story

The Echoes

Sometimes I sit alone, and I know it should be quiet.

But my head echoes so loudly with that scream.

You know the one.

That scream you let out thinking “this is it, my life is done.”

You thought it all was over by someone else’s hands, or perhaps even your own.

You’re reading this though, which means we’ve both survived.

Haunted but not broken.

We’re relearning how to thrive.

Healing isn’t linear, and many things are unfair.

I hope you can give yourself some grace and know you’re not alone out there.

You are still worthy and you are still loved.

And like a piece of wabi-sabi, you’re an imperfectly perfect work of art.

This hidden echo deep inside won’t always be there.

One day the echoes will lessen, and you will hold no more fear.

  • Sisna, she/her
  • I've been through many traumas and came out the other side. You can as well, we will survive.
